Rules change and depend on what you sell, so confirm with the agency before your first event.
- Sales tax: vendors selling taxable goods in Florida register with the Florida Department of Revenue, and some events ask for your certificate.
- Food trucks and prepared food: licensed through the DBPR Division of Hotels and Restaurants. Many events also ask for a fire inspection.
- Home bakers: Florida's cottage food rules cover many foods made at home. See the FDACS cottage food page.
- Liability insurance: more events require a certificate of insurance naming the organizer. Ask before you apply.
