What vendors should know before booking
- Crowd: the fair says its annual attendance tops 40,000 visitors.
- Returning vendors come first. Booths are held for last year's commercial vendors until September 19. New vendors are filled from the waiting list after that, so get on it early.
- Sales tax is on you. Vendors track, collect and pay their own taxes, and the fair gives the Cullman County Sales Tax Office a list of vendors who sell.
- Bring a business license and a sign. You need a current business license, and you must post a sign saying "The Cullman County Fair Association is not responsible or liable for any merchandise sold at this Booth."
- Keep it inside your space. All merchandise has to fit in your rented booth; you can restock as needed.
- Who comes: the fair runs livestock shows, home arts, crops, baking and photography exhibits, fair queen pageants and a midway, and in 2026 brought back plants and flowers and added a dairy goat costume contest.
Food vendors: permits and rules
The Cullman County Fair doesn't rent space to outside food vendors. Its vendor page says no food concessions or food carts are allowed other than those run by the Cullman Lions and the midway.
If you sell food at other Alabama events, the Alabama Department of Public Health (Division of Food, Milk and Lodging) asks temporary event vendors to contact the County Health Department where the event is held as early as possible, to plan a sanitary food operation.
